Hello Shepherd of the Mountains Family! It has been a very snowy winter, but it is finally turning into spring (for the most part). Day light savings has come and the spring solstice, not that that means much when we still have 3 feet of snow in our yards.
We are at the end lent which I always enjoy lent because it gives me time to reflect and learn. This year has been particularly challenging for me giving up something for lent in the midst of college an living on my own for the first time, but it has been a great learning experience and is reminding me every day about my relationship with God.
I have also added small things to my daily routine not just for lent but in my search for how I want to make my mark in this world through my own hands or through the work provided. One opportunity I am very excited to be heading is planning a group to go to the 2024 ELCA Youth and Young Adult Gathering!
In order for this to go successfully I need some volunteers to be on a planning committee so we can organize this event together. I also need someone who can be the physical presence of this team in the church as I am still at college. If you are interested in helping plan this event please let me know.
This event means a lot to me because I got to go back in 2018 and connected me with other kids my age who were are part of the same church as me. It was so good to gather with a bunch of people my age and serve and praise God. This means a lot to me which is why I really want to get this trip organized.
I personally am very excited for Easter it is my favorite holiday because it is a giant celebration where we celebrate life and happiness. I hope that everyone else is as excited for Easter and Spring as I am. Happiest Easter Wishes to you all!!!
That’s all I have right now. Have a wonderful week!
