~ SUB FOR SANTA 2021 ~
This year has been a bit of a challenge for all of us, let alone those individuals that have special needs. Â As we recognize to stay safe and healthy for our loved one and the community, we have had to once again postpone our annual Chrysalis Holiday Party at the church till next year.Â
However, we will still participate in a Sub for Santa program for the Chrysalis / Danville clients in Wasatch and Summit County. Â Bring some holiday cheer this year by signing up to purchase a gift(s) for these wonderful special needs Chrysalis clients. Â You can click the button below to sign up for gift(s) via “SignUp Genius”.
Instructions for gift purchases:
We ask that you wrap the gifts and place the client’s name and group # on the top of the package, so that they can be sorted to the right group home or individual family’s home. You can write a cheerful holiday note or just simply sign it from “Santa or Santa’s Helper”.  Please have your gifts dropped off at the church by Friday, December 17th.
Thank You!
We appreciate the support and love that you bring to these special people in our community. God Bless and Merry Christmas!

Some History About the Annual Chrysalis Party
Chrysalis was established in Heber City, Utah in 1985. Initially, the company was developed as a Sheltered Workshop that served the needs of 14 people.
In 1987, the company expanded its services by creating an eight-bed group home located in Midway, Utah. This group home marked the beginning of the residential services provided by Chrysalis.
Since that time, Chrysalis has continued to expand its services by establishing three and four bed homes, in a variety of locations throughout Utah and Nevada. Chrysalis has grown from serving 14 individuals in 1985 to serving over 500 individuals with well over 1,500 employees.
Chrysalis contracts with various state agencies in and outside of Utah and Nevada, as well as private paying families. Chrysalis has a long history and has demonstrated the ability to meet the needs of people with disabilities by providing quality services.
How Shepherd of the Mountains Got Involved
The first annual Chrysalis/Danville Christmas party was launched by Kay Simons, Gail Saloway and Stephanie Stroll in 1986, all individuals involved in the care and education of our special needs adults in Summit and Wasatch Counties. As the years went by, the number of clients increased and Kay and Don Simon’s home could no longer accommodate the large group, the location changed to our church facility in 1992.
For 28 years the members of our congregation have been very generous by supporting the SUB FOR SANTA gift program and hosting a delightful holiday party for our special friends every year. We will continue to support them in the midst of the Covid -19 challenge, but it will look a bit different this year.
