Shepherd of the Mountains Mission Statement:
God has called us to be in the mountains for good, centered in the story of Jesus for the sake of the world through worship, fellowship and service.
We are excited to inform the congregation and staff that we will have a Transition Coach assigned to us in early September. Deacon Janice Zimbelman, Director of Congregation Transition for the Grand Canyon and Rocky Mountain Synod informs us that she has assigned a Transition Coach and that we will meet her in early September. We don’t know her name at this point, but understand that she is from Colorado.
As we outlined last week. Transition Coaches are leaders trained to work with congregations in the transition process. They work with a few congregations at a time, and act as the main liaison between the office of the bishop and the congregations.
The Council is excited to start the important work of identifying and recruiting individuals to work with us on the Transition Team. And anxious to learn from our Coach about the process and timeline that will form the framework for calling a new Pastor.
And again, we are grateful to Pastor Gordon Young’s pastoral leadership in our time of Transition.
Happy Labor Day and SAFE TRAVELS to all of our members and guests.
Peace and Patience
Shepherd of the Mountains Council
