Hey Shepherd of the Mountains! It’s Jordanelle!
As many of you know I am newly in college at SUU (Southern Utah University), and I am so excited. I love going on new life experiences. Something that I have learned throughout all the change I have experienced in the past year is that change makes life better even when it is hard.
Going to college is a major change for me but it has already been amazing. Not only have I been thrust into a new life experience but into a new experience with God. The process of finding a new church is something I have never had to do in my life. I have visited many churches before but have always had my home at SOTM.
I have experienced good and bad churches, but one thing I am learning through finding a new church is learning what I want, expect, and believe in a church and a religion. I am on a spiritual journey finding my religion expectations and the kind of relationship I want with God and a new church.
Moving out on my own has really got me thinking about myself and my relationship with religion. I think about God and what my religious expectations are like every day especially since I am meeting so many new people from all different religions. I have never felt closer to God than in this time of religious reflection.
I think that there is nothing better you can do for your relationship with God than to reflect on your religious experiences and goals. So that is my challenge for all of you. Take a moment every day to reflect on your religion and your relationship with God. Think about how it makes you feel. How you want to feel. How our church community makes you feel. What you want to feel and see and remember it is a good thing to find your religious expectations changing. Change is important it means you are learning, and we should be learning new things in religion every day. God is with us every day through everything we do, try to recognize God’s influence in your everyday life.
That’s all I’ve got for you for now!!! Thank you!!! God Bless and have an amazing week!!!!
